James Paul Harrison, 65, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at Medical City Hospital Plano.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6th at the United Pentecostal Church with burial following in Garland Cemetery at Annona. Rev. Robert Myre, Rev. Tiny Freelen, and Aaron Harrison will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Harrison, the son of James Jefferson Harrison & Wilmer Ruth Baker Harrison, was born June 7, 1958, in Clarksville, TX.
James Paul attended elementary school in Annona and high school in Clarksville. At the age of fifteen, he began working at the boat factory in Clarksville and worked there until the age of 19. He then worked two years at Paris Milling Company before beginning a career at Campbell Soup Company that spanned 43 years before his retirement.
He grew participating in 4-H and belonged to a horse riding club in high school. In the 90’s, he drove a bus for the United Pentecostal Church.
His parents, his first wife, Melba Yvonne Harrison, and two sisters, Wanda Harrison and Cecelia Clark, preceded him in death.
Survivors include five children, James Robert Harrison, Joshua Don Harrison & wife Marquita, Aaron Paul Harrison, Colton Joel Harrison & wife Hope, and Brittany Lydia Nicole Cleveland & husband Brandon, six grandchildren, Joshua Cash Harrison, Hayden Don Harrison, Daisy Rebecca Harrison, Emma Baylee Harrison, Easton Wayne Harrison, and Oliver James Edelbrock Cleveland, his former wife, Sherry Ann Harrison, and three siblings, Mary Torres & husband Ted, Glenda Harrison, and Jackie Harrison & wife Barbara along with many nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
