Hugh C. “Bog” Wilson, 93, of Sumner, entered the gates of Heaven as they opened wide on May 5, 2016, at 4:30 a.m. to welcome home a faithful servant, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Don Morton officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in McDonald Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Wilson, the son of James Sydney & Zelma Dodson Wilson, was born Nov. 23, 1922, in Lamar County. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. His career with Vought Aircraft Company began in 1949, and spanned 34 years before his retirement in 1987. Hugh was a member of Ramseur Baptist Church. After retiring he moved back to Lamar County where he was an avid gardener. He enjoyed growing vegetables and giving them to neighbors, friends and church members. Doing this made his last years some of his happiest. He was preceded in death by two sons, Charles R. Wilson and Roger Dean Wilson, a daughter, Connie Lynn Wilson, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie B. Crabb Wilson, whom he married on Oct. 1, 1946, building 69 years of family and memories, one son, Jimmy Dale Wilson, grandchildren, R. J. Wilson, Raeanna Wilson, Christy Lynn Wilson, Shane Wilson, Ronald Tolliver and Teresa Kelley, great grandchildren, Chase Wilson, R. C. Tolliver, Marianne Shirley, Allison Shirley, Aubree Grintz and Mason Seymoure, a great great grandchild, Harper Hess, one brother, Ray Wilson along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends. Casket bearers will be: Danny Wilson, Robby Wilson, R. J. Wilson, Ronald Tolliver, Rickey Cockrum, James Grintz, Kenny Cheshier and Bradley Bean.
