Services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Williams, the daughter of Alvie Rufus Morgan and Lillie Anderson Morgan, was born Sept. 3, 1932, in Clardy, Texas, and attended school in Deport.
On July 17, 1948, she married George Albert Williams, building 62 years of family and memories before his death on June 18, 2011. Alva Mae & George blessed many people with their playing of country and gospel music at nursing homes and other events in the county. She was a homemaker, and she loved being a wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, Jimmy D. Sherbert, a son-in-law, Russell Leonard, and two sisters, Virginia Morgan BoSarge and Dorothy Jean Morgan.
Survivors include four children, Sandra Brock & husband John, Gail Leonard, Charles Williams & wife June, and Margaret Howard, grandchildren, Charles Ray Duncan & wife Shannon, Lisa Kay McKenzie & husband Jeff, Thomas Leonard, Sandra Morgan & husband Travis, Tracy Gail Simpson & husband Michael, Lalonna West, and Shane Howard & fiancé Hannah Sain, great grandchildren, Shavelle, Jason, Joelle, Tyler, Katelyn, Lindsey, Summer, E-6 Zachary, Seth, Rex, Callie, Drake, Cooper, and Caroline, great great grandchildren, Haden, Presleigh, Spencer, Kelsey, Octavia, and Rylee Jo, and a brother, Edward Morgan along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
