Born in Medina, Ohio, Robin grew up happily in Ohio and on Loch Lomond in Mundelein, Illinois with her parents and beloved sisters. Their home was full of laughter, water sports, and card games. An avid sailor, she raced butterfly sailboats and always felt at peace near and on the water.
In 1972, Robin began attending the University of Iowa where she met the love of her life and future husband, Jim, during the first week of their freshman year. While Jim knew immediately that he had found his future bride and partner, Robin took slightly more convincing. The couple married in 1976, and after Robin graduated with a degree in nursing, she and Jim began their life adventure together. Following many moves which took them across the country and back again, they settled in Papillion, Nebraska to raise their family. At that time, Robin made the decision to step away from a career in nursing and dedicate her energy to creating a happy and loving home for their children.
Known for her laugh, beauty, and kind heart, Robin loved her family fiercely and the depth of her care was limitless. She loved road trips to visit her family and dear friends and had an uncanny ability to only receive warnings instead of speeding tickets. A voracious reader, puzzler, and midnight movie attendee, she always maintained a sense of whimsy and joy. She was a devoted daughter, sister, and wife, and she cherished being a mother, grandmother, and aunt.
In 2003, Robin and Jim resettled to Papillion, a place which had always felt like home. The couple could often be found walking hand-in-hand along Papillion Creek Trail with their dogs. Their home became a central gathering place where both sides of their family often visited and celebrated. It is their wish for this to continue.
On April 24, Robin peacefully passed away in her home while watched over by her loving husband Jim. The family sincerely thanks Robin’s care team from the Nebraska Cancer Specialists and Hillcrest Hospice for their dedicated and respectful care during her illness.
Robin is preceded in death by Parents, Don and Marilyn Williams. She is survived by her devoted husband, James Anderson; Son, Lucas (Lela) Anderson; Daughter Chelsea (Casey) Kettler; Grandchildren, Sam Grant Anderson, Kate Anderson; Sisters Aaris (David) Leahy, Amy (Ken) Kliesner.
