Peggy was born May 28, 1940 in Omaha, NE the daughter of George and Grace (Harder) Mundt. The family lived in Springfield, NE for a few years before moving to Bridgewater, IA. where her father farmed and her mother raised the family. She was highly active in 4-H growing up on the farm. She graduated from Bridgewater High School where she was highly active in sports.
Peggy and Dean were "High School Sweethearts" and were married June 18, 1960. They celebrated 61 years of marriage together. Peggy and Dean raised six children in Papillion. Richard, Lisa, Thomas, Linda, Laura, and Marc.
Peggy graduated from Jennie Edmundson Nursing School in Council Bluffs, IA. Then later went on to receive her Bachelor of Nursing degree from St. Francis College. Her nursing career took her in many directions. She worked in Nursing Homes, Doctors Offices, Home Health Care, and Industrial Nursing, where she met and made many nurse friends.
Peggy and Dean started attending St Paul's Methodist Church shortly after their move to Papillion and were 60+ year members.
Peggy taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years and was involved in many groups and clubs. She especially enjoyed embroidering dish towels that were donated to auction to help fund Camp Fontanelle. She and the kids enjoyed attending camp where she was usually the "Camp" nurse.
In Retirement Peggy enjoyed helping her family with any projects and spending time with her grandchildren and later her great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and board games with family and friends and was incredibly competitive!
Gardening was another passion of hers and she had beautiful flower gardens at her house which she took great pride in and often shared plants from her garden with family and friends for their gardens.
She especially loved when she could be "helping others" whether is was family or friends.
Peggy was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago and became metastatic this year. She was so strong throughout her battle.
Her family would like to thank her many friends and family who visited her this past year and thank you to Trinity Village and Hillcrest Hospice for all their help.
Peggy is preceded in death by her Husband Dean Wyllie. Daughter Linda Wyllie. Parents George and Grace Mundt. She is survived by children: Richard (Denise) Wyllie, Lisa (Steve) Burt, Thomas Wyllie, Laura (Bob) Clancy and Marc Wyllie. Grandchildren: Zachary Burt, Keevan Clancy, Kaylin (Michael) Horsman-Best, Michael Wyllie, Kylie (Dallas) Clancy, Ryan Burt (Yvonne Moten) Great Grandchildren: Leah & Faye Matuszek, Ava & Oaklin Burt, Atlas & Penelope Horsman-Best. Brother: Marvin (Pam) Mundt. Sister: Jeanette Allen.
