Pauline was born on March 10, 1934, in Cologne, Minnesota; she was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.
Pauline was the homemaker and caretaker of her family, serving as the glue that held them together for 68 years. She took great pride in her cooking skills and was known for being a terrific cook. After her children were grown, she founded and operated "Polly's Books" in LaVista, a personal achievement that brought her immense pride. In her free time, Pauline enjoyed playing games such as scrabble, bridge, poker, and gin. She had a passion for card games and was always up for a challenge. She also enjoyed trying her luck at slot machines in Iowa and Las Vegas. Pauline was an avid bowler and participated in several bowling leagues throughout her lifetime. She showcased her creativity through various crafts, including pottery, painting, and creating flower arrangements.
Pauline will be dearly missed by her husband, Lyle; their children, Wade (Barb), Craig, and Sara (Brad) Stueve; and sister, Hope Rhon. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Elaine, Ciara, and Jaxon Stueve, and Sidney Henkensiefken; and daughter-in-law, Darlene Boukal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerhard and Gertrude Haasken; son, Mark; brothers, George and Carl; and sisters, Sally, Babe, and Irene.
Visitation will be held at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary in Papillion on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 3:00 pm with a prayer service at 4:00pm.
A funeral service will take place at St. Columbkille Church in Papillion on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 11:00 am.
Pauline Henkensiefken will be remembered for her love, warmth, and dedication to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
