Michael McCann, known to most as Mike, served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1975 to 1996. His proudest career moments were his STEP promotion to Master Sergeant, and establishing a military pay team to service Offutt Air Force Base personnel who were deployed during Desert Shield/Storm.
He loved spending time doing yard work along with other countless home improvement projects. Mike was also very generous with his time whether it was donating blood/platelets, coaching the Bryan High School bowling team, or dropping everything to help family. Things that made him smile and laugh were watching his young grandchildren playing and discovering, and when the family dogs (Misty & Lexi) ran around the yard and in the house at top speed.
But what he loved most was his wife, Brenda.
From taking her to her knitting group and helping her at home with her patterns to how carefully he guided her when they ventured into public.
He loved most of all their walks together.
In his words, “Through our years together my love for her has only grown stronger. Since she lost her sight she has become a beacon for me."
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth; father-in-law, Bill Snow; brothers-in-law, Don Simpson, Rick Wheeler, and Allan McConkey; nephew, Paul McConkey; and great-nephew Ryan Simpson.
