Margaret A. McCoy

Margaret (Peg) Amelia McCoy passed away peacefully at Hillcrest Mable Rose Memory Care Facility on August 11, 2022 at age 92. Preceded in death by husband, Max and daughter Shawn. Survived by son Pat McCoy (Brenda), and daughter Peggy Young; grandchildren Melissa, Daniel (Sarah), Courtney (Sebastian), Bailey, Christian (Brandy), Justin (Kassi); great grandchildren Joplin, Brevaughn, Max, Maggie, Eliora, Lael, Christian Jr, Adam, Elizabeth, Nathaniel, Aleah, Evelyn.

Peg was born and raised in Syracuse, Nebraska where she met her husband Max. Peg and Max moved to Omaha where they raised their three children. Peg was always active with her kids, starting with Brownie and Cub Scout leaders and PTA continuing through as a dedicated grandma and adoring great grandma. She and Max hosted exchange students from Europe and all over the world. She was active in her church, Aldersgate Methodist and in her community.

Peg loved gardening and being outside, and she constantly sought out new opportunities for her own growth. She played the piano, took art lessons, and became a massage therapist in her mid-fifties. Peg’s kindness and compassion was obvious the moment you met her. She was generous to others with her time and skills. She always made time for anyone who needed it, and she made everything she was involved with better.

Our family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Maple Rose and Hospice staff.

Visitation Thursday at Mortuary August 18 from 4-7 pm. and Funeral Services Friday at Mortuary August 19 at 10:00 am. Interment Graceland Park Cemetery.
