Joe served in the United States Army under General Patton for four years. His nickname was “gunner.” While lying in a hospital bed in Germany he was kissed on the forehead by Madelyn Carolle, a film star of the era. Joe has been decorated with a Bronze Star for heroic service and a Purple Heart after being wounded in battle. Joe is one of only a few men who have survived stepping on a land mine, and blessed further by not losing his leg.
Visitation Thursday 1-8 pm at mortuary with family receiving friends from 5-7. Wake service at 7:00 pm
Funeral service Friday 10:00 am St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Interment Cedar Dale Cemetery. Memorials to Hillcrest Hospice or Favorite Charity.
