David Lyle Hansen

David was born in Dannebrog, NE to Cornel and Irma Hansen, who proceeded him in death along with his two brother's Daryl and Kurt. David moved to Bellevue, Nebraska in 1944 and graduated from Bellevue High School in 1955. David married Val Jean Swanson on June 22nd, 1957 and enjoyed 65 years of marriage. They had four children, Keith (Vivian) of San Antonio, TX; Colleen (John Ruther)of Ralston, Ne; Craig (Michelle) and Mark (Karen) of Papillion, NE and were blessed with 9 grandchildren , 8 great grandchildren, 2 step granddaughters and 4 step-great-grandchildren. David and Val Jean moved to Papillion, NE in April of 2004.

David worked in accounting at Union Pacific Railroad for 44 years and retired in 1998. He was a long time active member of First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue, an avid gardener, and a member of the Nebraska Daylily Association. He hybridized and named a daylily for each of his grandchildren. Memorial service Saturday January 14th at 11:00am at First Presbyterian Church 1220 Bellevue Blvd S. Bellevue, NE 68005. In Lieu of flowers, suggest memorials to the church in David's memory.
