Brian Scott Nietfeld, resident of Bellevue, NE, died unexpectedly on November 8, 2020 at the age of 47.
Brian is survived by his parents; his ex-wife, Brenda Hrabe (nee Huryta); his 4 children, Ashley Elizabeth Johnson (nee Nietfeld) (husband Allen Johnson), Michaela Marie Nietfeld (fiancé Tyler Irwin), Lindsay Nicole Nietfeld all of Kansas City, KS, and Colby James Hansen of Council Bluffs, IA; his brother Eric Daniel Nietfeld (wife Tara Griffin) of Gibbon, NE, his sister Kirsten “Nicole” Nietfeld (wife Teresa K. Ward) of Bellevue, NE, along with cousins, aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews including birth families from his mother, Kathy and brother, Eric. Brian is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Florence Rea Denman and grandfather C.W. Denman; paternal grandparents Donald and Esther (Scheer) Nietfeld; Uncles Weldon Rea Denman and John Doehling.
Brian was born in Makati, Rizal Province, Philippines on May 6, 1973 to Rev. Danny Leon Nietfeld and Kathryn Ann (nee Denman) Nietfeld. Brian was baptized on June 10, 1973 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Quezon City, Philippines. Brian was then confirmed on May 3, 1987 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Edna, TX. Brian was a 1991 graduate of Ravenna High School in Ravenna, NE. He then attended Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, WY where he graduated with a degree in Auto Body Refinishing and Collision Repair. He then went on to pursue his passion in working on, fixing and refinishing cars for years until he pursued his own roofing company, BSN Roofing.
Brian’s favorite hobbies included fishing of which he received the Master Angler’s Award. He also enjoyed gardening, working on cars, building, creating and inventing things, wood working, welding, raising his chickens and working in his shop, just to name a few. He has always been known for his artistic abilities in many mediums, a talent and passion that he has passed on to his daughters. Brian was an intelligent individual and he could devise and “McGyver” many things, such as an electric bicycle, an electric motor in a pickup to name a few. He’s also known for his tidiness and collector of items such as bugs, skulls, knives, quarters and various items.
Brian loved his children dearly, enjoyed time spent with his nieces and nephews, and helped his parents with many DIY projects in and around their home. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and all who knew him.
A memorial service will be scheduled in the near future, as arrangements are being made by the family. Any memorials may be directed towards AFSP, Out of the Darkness; Wounded Warrior Project and/or NAMI.
