Thomas J. Dewees Jr.

Thomas J Dewees, Jr. of Glenolden, PA., formerly of Upper Darby, PA., passed away on March 9, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Tom was the retired owner of Designed Alarm Security which he founded with his partner, Dave Strzepek, after mastering his trade with the alarm division of Wells Fargo. Tom proudly served in the United Sates Marine Corp from September 30, 1960 to September 29, 1966. During his time in the Marine Corp, he served in the ceremonial military cordon for the State Funerals of both President John F. Kennedy and General of the Army Douglas MacArthur.

Tom enjoyed watching Criminal Minds with his wife, engaging in games of chance and sharing his favorite snacks of ice cream and M&M’s with his daughter and grandchildren. Also, it was not often that you would find him without a cup of coffee in one hand, a camel cigarette in the other while poking a loving joke at a family member. He will certainly be dearly missed.

Surviving is his wife Debbie (nee Simpkins) Dewees, his daughter, Donna (Ralph) DeStefano, 4 step children, Michelle (Jim) Bannon, Stephanie (Greg) Sannutti, Shawn Dewees and Joey Dewees and 3 grandchildren, Isabella, Lucas and Kallie. Also survived by his 2 brothers, Francis Dewees and Michael Dewees, his 2 sisters, Mary Dewees and Patricia Dewees. Tom was predeceased by his brother John and his 2 sisters, Joan and Delores.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 1:00pm from Alleva Funeral Home, Inc. 1724 E. Lancaster Avenue, Paoli, PA. Viewing will be held from 11 AM until 1PM at the funeral home. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Children Hospital.
