passed away quietly the morning of June 13th, 2022 at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Bob is survived by wife of 60 years, Eleanor, along with sons Bob (Diane) and Jim (Christine), daughter Diane (Mary Anne), grandson Evan, and sister Joanne. He is pre-deceased by father Lester and mother Joan (nee Cunningham).
Bob and Eleanor (of Millville, NJ) met in the summer of 1961 in Brigantine, NJ where Bob’s family owned a shore home. They were married in June of 1962 while Bob served in the Navy as an airdale based at Patuxent River, MD.
Bob worked as an assembly mechanic at Engineered Arresting Systems in Aston, PA for 35 years. Prior to this, Bob spent 10 years at General Electric in Southwest Philadelphia.
Bob played saxophone for Woodland and Ferko String Bands and enjoyed progressive horn bands such as Chicago and Tower of Power. He liked muscle cars, especially his prized 1973 Grand Am. Bob enjoyed relaxing with a cigar, especially when he could get his hands on a good Cuban. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
