Richard E. Beatty Sr.

Richard E. “Dick” Beatty Sr., 81, of King of Prussia PA, passed away after a brief illness Friday May 9th, 2014. Dick was the loving husband of Joan (nee Dwight) and son of the late Joann (nee Samacko) & John Beatty. Dick was born May 29, 1932. He was a graduate of Colby College in Maine and went on to earn an MBA from Bridgewater Teachers College. After serving as a Captain in the Air Force, Dick went on to teach and serve as Vice Principal of Rockland Elementary in Massachusetts. He then went into management with Atlantic Richfield Company and later was the co-proprietor of an ARCO service station in Newtown Square PA. In his later years, Dick was a Real Estate agent and Mortgage Consultant with Weichart Reality. After retiring, he drove part time for Main Line Taxi. Dick was an avid sports fan, enjoyed bird watching, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with his family. Surviving are 5 children: Debra Harmon, Richard (Melanie) Beatty, Stephen (Debbie) Beatty, Sue Beatty, Karen (Rick) Saldutti; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild on the way. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass at 1130AM on Fri. May 16th St. Augustine Church; 464 Ford St. Bridgeport, PA. Burial private by the request of the family.
