Patrick was born on February 26, 1966 in Trenton, NJ. He grew up with his loving family in Springfield, PA. He graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School in 1984. Patrick then worked as a salesman for Dynafoam Cleaner for several years. Always with a passion for helping people, he then became an EMS with Keystone Quality Ambulance. As a side job during this time, Patrick worked as a highly sought after wedding DJ for many years adding to the memories of many families. Eventually, the EMT work prompted him to go to college and major in Nursing. In 1998, Patrick graduated from Widener University with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing where he was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the world’s only nursing honor society.
Patrick established his career as a nurse, working for many years as an ER nurse at various local health systems. He worked briefly as a Utilization Management nurse at Keystone First Health Insurance Plan where he met his loving wife Diane in 2005. Recognizing his passion to work with people, he then took positions as a hospital liaison coordinating discharge planning at Mainline Health Home Care and Hospice, Aseracare Hospice and most recently with Optioncare Health. He frequently made the impossible fully possible by working closely with his hospital Care Coordination colleagues. His desire to work back at the bedside prompted him to briefly return to the ER at Main Line Health Paoli Hospital before illness set in.
Patrick served as an Altar Boy while he was in Our Lady of Perpetual Help school as a young boy.
As a young adult, Patrick became a certified Karate instructor and taught for several years at Kim’s Karate in Columbia, PA.
As a DJ in demand for almost two decades, he had his own company known as “The Music Machine” where he would entertain at wedding events.
Patrick was heavily involved as a volunteer for the American Red Cross. He traveled to many disaster sites including Hurricane Katrina to help during their time of need.
Patrick’s personality was larger than life. His gregarious play at life made everyone instantly drawn to him. He was a master at humor, always keeping everyone laughing with his stories and opinions. He was one to make every situation encompass a little humor. Occasionally, he was known to “put on his gorilla suit” in order to turn tough situations around. With his booming voice and his quick wit, he usually got things done. He will be missed by many.
Patrick was an excellent cook in every situation. He loved to cook things after a brief search on Google and spice it up his way. Patrick insisted to be the family chef and prepared extravagant holiday and get together meals. His wife Diane has had to cook very little in the last 18 years. He was known to make large vats of “the best blue cheese dressing ever” that he would give out to family and friends.
Patrick’s favorite topic of conversation was the Philadelphia Eagles always cheering them on and never missing a game. Game day was sacred, and the family room frequently became the center of a shouting match at the television.
Patrick’s favorite activity was deep sea fishing which he made sure that he did a few times every year in his favorite spots – Ocean City, MD and Aruba. He would always catch enough to have dinner that night and bring the rest home to enjoy throughout the year.
Patrick met the love of his life, Diane in 2005. They married in May of 2009. As with all things they did it big. The swine flu altered plans to marry in Mexico so a quick change of plans to Aruba allowed for three different weddings. A legal wedding, a beach wedding in Aruba and a wedding and reception upon return. When asked the date of their marriage, the answer was always "the month of May". Patrick adored Diane and was frequently heard in conversations, "My beautiful wife and I...". They were completely in tune with each other and frequently joked about their USB cable connection.
Patrick’s daughter Erin was the apple of his eye. Although life separated them for many years, their reunion was steadfast and strong in 2013 allowing for even more happy memories with her and two beautiful grandchildren, Rylan and Dawson.
Patrick’s fur babies, 3 yellow labs as Buddy, Biscuit and Baxter gave him daily activity, laughter and joy over this past decade, frequently stating, “we have to get home for the dogs.”
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Patrick Driscoll and Rita Sarsfield Driscoll.
Patrick is survived by Diane Driscoll, wife; Erin Brown, daughter with son-in law Chris Brown and two beautiful grandchildren, Rylan 6 and Dawson 2 years of age.
