Mr. DeFlaviis was born in Montorio, Abruzzo, Italy and spent his childhood in Teramo, Abruzzo, Italy before immigrating to the United States at the age of 16.
Nello’s talent as a carpenter, mason, woodworker and roofer were matched by his strong and consistent work ethic. Starting his career with JM Jones Roofing, he eventually established his own company LNP Roofing, working in the Main Line Region for many years. He then went on to work for Continental Bank in Norristown taking on jobs both big and small, and where his skills were recognized by his friends and colleagues.
Throughout the remainder of his career, he maintained an admirable level of patience and perfection in every job he took on.
Most importantly, Nello was a simple, quiet and good man. He loved his home, family, friends his work and being outside.
Though his grandchildren are young, no one could bring a smile to his face like they did, and he was a beloved Pop-pop. He also found great pleasure in making simple meals and perfected recipe for broccoli rabe.
Finally, the family would like to recognize all the wonderful caretakers at the Wayne Center of Genesis who provided kind and compassionate care to Nello during his residency there.
