It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Nancy D’Amicantonio Stemple. Marie passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 6, 2025 leaving her loved ones in deep sorrow. Marie was born on September 8, 1949, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, to the late Filomeno and Theresa D’Amicantonio. Marie was the oldest of the three D’Amicantonio children. She is survived by brothers Louis D’Amicantonio (Brenda) and Robert D’Amicantonio of Wayne, PA.
Marie, who was preceded in death by her beloved husband Phil in December 2023, is survived by their three children: Melissa Stemple Owen and son-in-law Christopher Owen with grandchildren Amelia and Natalie Owen of Garden City, NY; Meredith Stemple of Flemington NJ and Matthew Stemple and daughter-in-law Megan Johnston with grandchildren Ezra and Emmett Stemple of Kalamazoo, MI. She was a beloved aunt to her nephews Tony (Ann), Michael, and Stephen D’Amicantonio.
Also survived by brother-in-law Stephen Stemple and was predeceased by sister-in-law Nancy Stemple Williams (Ray) and brother-in-law Jack Stemple (Janet).
Marie graduated from Radnor High School in 1967 and went on to attend Rosemont College, graduating in 1971. During her college years, she spent a semester studying abroad at the Sorbonne in Paris, where she deepened her love for language and culture. A lifelong learner, Marie continued to pursue her passion for French and Italian, and in retirement, she especially enjoyed participating in Italian conversation groups and staying connected with relatives in Italy.
In September of 1971, Marie met her future husband Phil through mutual AT&T/Bell Labs friends. They were married on October 6, 1973, at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Strafford, PA, and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary shortly before Phil’s passing in 2023.
Following their marriage, Marie and Phil settled in Bridgewater, NJ, where they welcomed their three children, and later moved to Basking Ridge, NJ. After retiring, they made their home in Flemington, NJ.
Marie was a proud employee of AT&T, where she dedicated her entire professional career, including her time in the Government Affairs department. She built many lifelong friendships there and was known for her dedication, perseverance, and integrity.
Marie found joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially vacations at the beach, including the Outer Banks and the New Jersey Shore. She was a loving and deeply involved mother to Meredith ("Merry"), actively supporting her in the Special Olympics community, always cheering her on and serving as a constant source of encouragement and care. Marie also served on the board of Bethel Ridge, advocating for individuals with disabilities and supporting their families. Marie was very active in her community including the Woman’s Club chapters of Flemington and Bound Brook NJ.
Above all, Marie valued family. She cherished staying in close contact with her extended family and loved celebrating holidays surrounded by those she held dear. Her warmth, kindness, and deep love for others touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Sunday, April 13th, at Countryside Funeral Home in Three Bridges, NJ from 2pm – 4pm. On Monday April 14th, there will be a viewing at the Alleva Funeral Home, Inc. in Paoli, PA from 5pm – 8pm and also Tuesday morning from 9:00-10:00 am. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, in Strafford, on Tuesday April 15th at 11:00am with a burial immediately following at Calvary Cemetery in Conshohocken, PA.
