Lawrence William Schwartz, loving husband of Tracey and devoted father to Callaghan, Logan, and Annabel, born July 17, 1963, died suddenly August 15th, 2017 on his and Tracey’s 25th wedding anniversary. He was preceded in death by his son Bobby, his father Robert R. Schwartz, M.D., and his father-in-law Bobby Campbell. He is survived by his wife and children, his mother Kathleen B. Schwartz, his mother-in-law Sadie Campbell, his brother Robert, his sisters Murfee (Chris Aceto), Molly (Lew Brandolini), and Missy, sisters-in-law Sharon (Maurice Brown) and Ashley, her daughter Delaney (Mike DeGrasse) along with many loving nieces and nephews. Larry was a graduate of Devon Preparatory School and Boston College, and built a life in Strafford, PA. He established a successful career trading international commodities, and enjoyed traveling the world as part of his job.
Larry was a faithful member of Saint Monica’s Church in Berwyn, PA, and was a dedicated volunteer for the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair since childhood. He enjoyed coaching his children, his most loved and proudest accomplishments. His diverse interests included gathering his many friends for games of ultimate Frisbee, hockey & golf. He was a founding member of the Phila. Area Disc Alliance (PADA). Larry was passionate about music and the Philadelphia Union. He was a true gentleman, with an infectious smile and laugh that made strangers into friends. Caring, spiritual, and selfless with a gentle kindness and enthusiastic nature, always willing to lend a hand. An engaging conversationalist, a great lover of life, a pillar for his family and friends, dedicated to helping his fellow man. Every day was a good day for Larry, and for all who knew him.
Services will be held at St. Monica Roman Catholic Church, Berwyn, PA viewing on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 6pm to 9pm and Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 9:30am to 11:30am. A funeral mass will be offered at 12:00pm (noon) with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.
