Son of the late Purcell and Marian (Maltby) O’Gorman, Kim was born in New York, NY and grew up in Darien, CT with his sister Sue (dec.). Kim married Ann Joan Ingersoll in 1959, and together they had two daughters: Debra Ann O’Gorman Reich, married to Eric Reich, of Fairfield, CT and Wendy Catherine O’Gorman Brooks, married to Gary Brooks, of Devon, PA. Kim is also survived by his grandchildren Allison Reich, Matthew Reich and Zachary Brooks, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Patricia Glenn Scott O’Gorman, with whom he shared 37 wonderful years along with their daughters and their families.
Kim was an avid sailor, participating in regattas in this country and abroad. He often competed in the Lightning Class on his beloved “Schmoo”. A graduate of New York University, Kim had a career in sales and always enjoyed reading and competing in bridge tournaments. During his years in Venice, he and his wife traveled the world extensively. Kim was active in his church community and was an usher at the Epiphany Cathedral. He was also active in the Venice Sail and Power Squadron, where he held leadership roles and completed thousands of boat inspections. He also was involved with other organizations, including the Newcomers of Venice, the Connecticut Club, the Venice Housing Authority, the Friends of the Venice and Jacaranda Libraries, and the Friendly Sons and Daughters of St. Patrick. He was very proud of his Irish heritage.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11:30 am, preceded by a memorial gathering from 10:30am - 11:15 am at St. Monica Church, 63 Main Avenue, Berwyn, PA 19312.
