Dear family of Josh, 

I was Josh's violin TA at Eastman School of Music. Josh got transferred into my violin studio in September (he was previously studying with another friend of mine). I am very sorry about what happened, and am thinking of your family at this time. 

I actually still remember the first day I met him-- I believe it was last year when he was auditioning for violin lessons at Eastman. He had a very likeable personality and I enjoyed even the couple of minutes of chatting with him. When he was transferred into my studio in September, it was very easy to be on the same page as he was very easy going. Josh was a very fun student to work with. He was diligent in working on his technique and musicality. He was very responsive and I could tell him enjoyed making music. He was a student who I would describe as very kind and likeable. 

I will be grieving with you during this time as well.
