Joseph Thomas Garrity passed away on September 19, 2012 at the age of 82. At the time of his passing, Joe was surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Helen and Joseph Garrity. He was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University. Joe was an avid Philadelphia sports fanatic, Jersey shore lover, and above all a Penn State fan. He enjoyed 56 wonderful years with his late wife Barbara Norton Garrity. Joe is survived by his three children, Lynne Mayer of Wayne, Scott Garrity and his wife Jennifer of Plantation, FL and Christopher Garrity and his wife Allison of East Fallowfield and six grandchildren, whom he loved and adored. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor to know him and love him.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 28th at St Martha’s Manor chapel in Downingtown. A private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s name may be made to St. Martha's Manor, 470 Manor Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335.
