John was a good friend and a original member of the Allard gang !!! What fun we had growing up together. Basketball at deegs house were all day adventures! Didn't quite enjoy you dunking on me ! They were great times and I'm glad I got to experience them with you ! You will be missed my friend !

To the Deegan Family-   I knew John back in the 80’s when he was a Retail Mgr.  in Ashland, KY.   He was the Mgr.  You always wanted to work with especially at night.  He wanted to go home early to be with Zena & Zeus.  He loved living out in the country with his babies!  We were all sad when he was transferred to Ohio.  He was part of our family.   I lost touch over the years but he has always had a special part of my Heart.  He will not be forgotten. ❤️

It was so sad to hear of Deegs passing, he was a big part of our Trappe Family!  We certainly will miss him, especially his quick wit!  RIP Deegs!

When we moved over to Red Roof in 2018 I was skeptical in going there not knowing who I was going to sit near.  And then I had the pleasure of sitting across from John for almost 4 years and we became friends instantly.  We shared many conversations together and laughs.  When I look across and will not see his smiling face and hear him say "Good Morning" it will bring tears to me.  John, it was a pleasure being your friend and colleague.  You will surely be missed but never forgotten.

“Deeg’s” was a good friend of many who graduated together from Moon High School.  Life has taken friends in different directions, yet the fond memories of our group of friends remain.  We pray for peace for John and comfort for his family and many friends.  Rest in Peace, Deegs.

I will miss John’s gentle voice, the sense of calm he brought to every meeting and how he always had his Microsoft Teams background set to one of his favorite vacation spots.  He is missed by his Wawa Family.  

John was and always will be a very special person to my family and me.  He was a great person and a great friend - he was fun, easy to talk to and also had good recommendations on places to visit in Hawaii and Pittsburgh! I cannot believe he is gone, I will miss seeing and talking with him.  Lots of love, I will never forget you. 

I am so sadden to hear of John's passing.  He had a big heart and a bigger personality, one that just made you like him instantly.  So many little things make me laugh when I think of John.   He will be dearly missed.  Blessings to the family for peace and comfort knowing what an impact he had on everyone he met.

I'll miss you John, you always had a way to bring a good time no matter what you were doing. I had the pleasure of working with John at all hours of the day, and even when stressful and hard times were hit John could always find a joke or something that was positive. I'll miss swinging by your desk just to chat about anything and everything. 

My deepest condolences to John’s family and close friends.  Deegs, as we nicknamed John at Wawa, is one of my most favorite & closest work buddies.  We worked closely on several projects and always had fun & laughed during these efforts.  His honest, down to earth, wholehearted demeanor is what attracted me to Deegs.  As our positions at Wawa limited our work interactions, Deegs always made time to wish me a happy holiday, ask about my family & just reach out to say hi and what’s up.  Deegs enjoyed venison (Pittsburgh roots maybe?), so I would always make sure to pack his freezer and in return, he would always share his ‘wild game culinary creations’ with me!  I was lucky to be able to call John a friend.  Miss you Deegs.

I will miss John’s signature greeting “Heyyyyy Rockkky” every single time I saw him. He never failed to ask how Kathleen and the boys were and always had a smile on his face.

When our department was moved over to Red Roof in 2018, we were lucky enough to land the spot next to John and his team.  John quickly became my early morning buddy--first ones in to claim our “reserved” parking spaces-talking about music, politics, chocolate milk-and what time Fred was going to show up so you could take a milk break.  Always getting his comb out to make sure his hair was in place for all the girls -and wearing one of his trademark Hawaiian shirts.
You  said you were coming over to work on the phones in Wawa Direct to ease into your retirement- telling me I needed to have a guy with a great voice -our customers would love you. Well you are right-they would have loved you-for your kindness, your humor, your stories, and your gentle spirit. We were so lucky to land our spot next to you -I cannot believe we won’t have the chance to sit there with you again- it will never be the same -you were simply the best!


John was truly a fantastic guy. I've known John for almost a decade, thru Wawa. I had the honor of working closely with John for 2 years on the Wawa Radiant Project. Him and I were partnered up many times, and I consider myself the lucky one for being gifted that opportunity. He provided many, many laughs, and made work seem like not being at work at all. 
He was always good to provide friendly battles about who had the better team each year, the Flyers or the Penguins (He usually won). He was always willing to drop what he was doing to help anybody, including people he never met before.
Every single time I brought my daughter to work, she would never forget to ask to see "Big John."  The first time they met, she gave him a princess fairy sticker, which he immediately placed on the back of his Wawa badge. The last time they saw each other, he still had that sticker on his badge, 8 years later. 
Always a great guy to grab a beer (or six) with, and made life's worries go away with his funny stories and bright personality. 
John will truly be missed. He was definitely one of the great ones. Rest easy, Buddy

John was an absolute pleasure to work with and I'm saddened to hear of his passing.  We shared a common love of the Trappe Tavern and would often share our memories.   I just chuckled at the magnet I have on my fridge from John.  My condolences to the family and my former Wawa co-workers.  He will absolutely be missed by all.   

I started working at Wawa in high school, and never left because of the people. When I got my internship on John's team in 2018, I specifically remarked to myself how comfortable of a presence he had, he truly brought a paternal energy with him. The opportunity to work with people like John are the reason I love my job and my company.

We connected over our shared love for live music, and our many stories of concerts and festivals we've attended. John had an appreciation for the immaterial goodness in life. I will miss catching up with him when I stop by my old department to say hi.

John was a fantastic person-- warm, genuine, and so very funny. I had the pleasure of working with him at Wawa. We learned a lot from each other, though he always played it off like he was the only one learning something new.  I am so sad that I won't hear your voice over my cube wall teasing Fred about whatever hijinks he had gotten himself into. You will whole heartedly be missed.

I still can’t believe that this lovable lug is gone. He was like family to me and Gina. No matter what happened(short of election results and the Eagles won/loss record) he always had a smile on his face and a witty retort to whatever subject was brought up.  John, just like all of us, enjoyed being “a part of something”.  Thanks to “Johnson”, who went out of his Way to run different sporting pools ,  many people had the opportunity to feel like they were part of a group or to not feel like an “outsider”. I’ll miss him greatly and feel bad for those that never had the opportunity to call my pal, Johnson, a friend. He had no family in this area, but many of us were lucky enough to have John be a part of our family. The perfect kind of family…..the family that you get to choose….the family that you actually enjoy being around. A part of our family is no longer with us, and it’s sad. He’ll always be in our hearts and the memories will never fade. Good night, friend. Know that you were loved.

John and I had a lot of great times together, especially during our "girls days" as he liked to call them.   I miss his texts, our talks, and his friendship.   I always had a soft spot for John, and I'm truly heartbroken knowing that I'm never going to see him or his smile again!   I hope they're serving Twisted Teas & vodka and showing the Steelers playoff game up in heaven!   I miss you, John!!!

I will miss Johns  laughter and music selections at our get together . He was a big part of all our lives  and his sudden passing was a shock and can not believe he gone . We will have all the great memories with him  and mass on Sunday’s  to remember him by . Miss you buddy !
