March 8, 1935 - January 16, 2022
Jane Marie Minnich, of Paoli, PA, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 16, 2022. She was married to the love of her life, Charles J. Minnich III for 57 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Martin and Elizabeth Hargadon, and the sister of the late John Martin Hargadon and James Hargadon.
She is survived by her husband, Charles J. Minnich III. Loving Mother to her five children: Mary van Zyverden (Randy), Jane Marie Kluge (Dan), Chuck (Betsy), Megan Liney (Patrick), and John Martin (Amy). Nana was blessed with fourteen grandchildren: Charlie, Jacqueline, Jude, Danny, Sam, Moira, Isaac, Patrick, Nathan, Molly, Luke, Brennan, Grace and Emma and was adored by her nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Jane graduated from Ravenhill Academy and Saint Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing (class of 1957). She began her nursing career at Holy Redeemer Hospital where she eventually became Nursing Supervisor of Pediatrics. When Jane realized that the Armed Services were accepting women, Jane knew she had an additional calling and could offer her talents and love of nursing to the Air Force where she eventually was promoted to Captain. After retiring from nursing, Jane devoted her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and always a caregiver. After the children were raised, Jane went back to Ancillae Assumpta Academy, her second family, where she provided care for the retired nuns.
Being a grandmother gave her immeasurable pleasure and pride, and she enthusiastically celebrated every milestone, sacrament, performance, birthday… with her grandchildren.
A few of her favorite things include enjoying time with her husband Chuck, visiting the Jersey shore, entertaining, Hallmark movies, red lipstick, and Philadelphia’s fried oysters and chicken salad.
Jane’s Catholic faith was her core. Jane and Chuck were parishioners at St. Norbert’s Parish for many years where Sunday Mass was a prerequisite to all weekend activities with the family. Therefore, we invite family and friends to St. Norbert’s Church, 50 Leopard Road, Paoli, PA 19301 on Saturday, February 5, 2022 for a 10:00AM visitation until her Funeral Mass at 11:00AM.
