Mr. Clement passed away on April 9th at Paoli Memorial hospital after a brief but courageous bout with lung cancer.
George Young Clement was born July 5, 1940 in Philadelphia to Ester Yerpe Clement and Joseph Ambrose Clement. During his time at Nether Providence High School and Bucknell University, Mr. Clement formed friendships that lasted his lifetime. After graduating from Bucknell, Mr. Clement served in the army until the death of his father, whereupon he returned home to take over the family business at age 23. Over the next four decades, Mr. Clement grew the business while raising a family. After sailing the Chesapeake and other waters for over twenty years, George sold the boat and took up golf. Though new to game, George showed the same diligence he brought to trap shooting and business, showing up routinely at the golf club to practice, reading everything he could find about the game, and studying the Golf Channel. When not on the golf course, George could be found surrounded by family and friends.
George will be missed by his loving wife, Patricia Anne Clement (nee Clermont); his children, Anne Hutchison-Linhard, Rebecca Clement, and Joseph Clement (Dawn), Kelly Broadhurst (Matt) and Michael Koblensky; his granddaughters, Emma, Maggie, Caroline, Hannah, Olivia, Charlotte and April Rose. George is reunited in heaven with his father, mother and sister, Nancy Beck.
Services for family and friends will be held at Trinity Assembly of God Church in West Chester, PA on April 18th at 1:00 pm. The family will receive visitors at the church starting at noon. There will be a reception held at the Radnor Hunt Club following the memorial service. Because George enjoyed the Golf Course at Glen Mills and their program for young men, memorial contributions may be made to The Glen Mills School Student Scholarship, PO Box 5001 Concordville Pa. 19331.
