Eileen Duffy Teague of Paoli, Pennsylvania left this world on Saturday, March 16, 2024 as only she could. Surrounded by her cherished friends In The Daughters of the British Empire, she went out having a grand time, singing , telling stories , and of course drinking wine!
Eileen was born on July 22nd, 1938 in Glasgow Scotland. She was the daughter of the late William and Ellen Duffy. Eileen lived in Scotland and London and became a professional singer at age 19; having 2 hits on Phillips Records and several commercials and jingles.
While living in London, Eileen gave birth to her only child, Mark Julian Teague. In 1965, they moved to the United States where Eileen continued her singing career. Moving all over the states and Cuba while still performing. Later, Eileen and Mark moved to Philadelphia area, settling in Malvern PA.
Continuing to sing professionally, Eileen also opened Hart appliance, a successful appliance service business. Eileen performed for 10 years every Friday and Saturday night atop the Bellevue Stratford on the 19th floor. It was an amazing setting and people loved to go just to hear her sing.
After retirement, Eileen enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and family. Eileen's pride and joy was her son Mark. Mark married his wife Kathy in 1999, and then Eileen was blessed with two grandsons, Tyler and Jake. From the moment they were born she was the most amazing granny to the boys. They loved her and cherished every moment they spent with her. Eileen had so many friends and wonderful people in her life. She was an active member of the DBE right until the very end.
In 2020 Eileen was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. While suffering from this terrible disease Eileen kept her sense of humor, her love of spending time with her family and friends, her love of music and singing, and of course her love of wine.
She is survived by her only son Mark, daughter in law Kathy, her grandsons Tyler and Jake, and countless, endless friends.
A memorial gathering will take place on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 10:00 am at Alleva Funeral Home, 1724 E. Lancaster Avenue, Paoli, PA 19301. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. A luncheon will be immediately afterwards at The General Warren Inn, Malvern, PA.
