Edward Gallagher

Edward Gallagher, age 89, passed away peacefully at home June 23, 2023. Born June 17, 1934 in Rockaway Beach, New York, son of Sam and Mary Gallagher. Edward honorably served in the US Army as a cryptographer. Edward is predeceased by his parents, sister Patricia, and brother Jack. He is survived by his wife, Helene Gallagher, daughter, Kathleen Smoak (Gary), son, Edward Gallagher, brother, Gordon Gallagher, grandchildren, Travis Smoak, Kara Smoak, and Delaney Gallagher, as well as many nieces and nephews. Edward spent his career with 3M Corporation, retiring in Berwyn, Pennsylvania.

Edward and Helene spent 65 years together, raising their family, traveling the world, enjoying their passion for tennis, and spending time with friends. Edward’s graciousness, kindness, and amazing sense of humor will always be remembered by everyone who knew him.

Service will be held at Alleva funeral home 1724 E. Lancaster Ave., Paoli, PA 19301 on July 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM with a luncheon following. Internment at Washington memorial chapel will be private.
