Born on July 8, 1958, he was the second born of ten children to the late Dominic Paul Toscani, Sr. and Nancy Catherine Gerace Toscani. Dominic grew up in Ardmore, Drexel Hill and Wayne, Pennsylvania and graduated from Archbishop John Carroll High School in 1976.
Dominic was a highly intelligent and caring human of devout Catholic faith. He was known by family as the one you could always rely on. He loved math, problem solving, reading, writing, music and adventure. His most notable achievements and cherished memories were rebuilding a Pontiac GTO, riding his Harley Davidson across the U.S. on the historic Route 66, building a beautiful rancher in South Jersey, skydiving in Delaware, traveling through Asia, starting and successfully leading multiple businesses, living and traveling on his Silverton 392 yacht D’Alto Mare and the birth of his two children, Niki and Tony.
Dominic started working at an early age at his father’s business, Paris Business Forms, which Dominic Sr. founded in 1964. He began in the factory and eventually worked his way up through the company, from customer service to production management to business development and sales, and eventually, Chief Executive Officer. In his 20 years at Paris, he was a key contributor to a nearly tenfold increase in sales and a tripling of manufacturing output, as noted by his brother and current CEO, Gerry. He later moved on to become a founder of a wholesale packaging company, owner of a tech firm and a successful commercial cleaning franchise.
Dom had a reputation for being charismatic, unapologetically himself and intimidatingly cool until the very end. To his friends and family, he was known as “Dom,” to his early coworkers, he was “Sam,” and to his siblings and parents, he was “Tickie.” All the same, everyone was attracted to him for his spirited charm, fun-loving excitement, and big heart. Dominic was loved deeply and cared for by so many during his illness, including his wife, Beth, his daughter and son-in-law, his parents, siblings, niece and nephew, Christina and Colin, and extended care partners.
Dominic is survived by his children, Niki (Mike) and Tony (Adehla), his grandson Eli, his siblings, Patrice (Rick), Gerry (Tina), Nancy (Mike), Sandi (Frank), Mark, Regina, MaryBeth (Patrick), Matthew and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dominic Sr. and Nancy, and his sister, Lisa. May he live on in our hearts and in the endless memories shared, all with him at the helm. “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.” Isaiah 43:2. We love you, Captain Dom.
