A loving husband and proud father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda (nee Bachofer), their sons, Brian (Caroline), Kevin (Sarah), and Jason; their grandchildren, Abigail, Cora, Oliver, and Rose; his siblings, Steve (Kathy), Roy (Julie), Tom, and Donna; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Roy and Agnes (nee Yanni) Curtis, and many loving aunts and uncles.
Dennis and Linda were partners for over four decades in marriage, business, and all life had to offer. Their love grew to a family of five and blossomed into a tree with daughters-in-law and two sets of twin grandchildren. A lifelong mechanic who, with his wife, owned Curtis Automotive Center in West Chester for 34 years. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family, grilling and cooking, hunting and fishing, and watching his hometown Phillies and Eagles. He was happy to see his Eagles make the Super Bowl again the night before he passed. Dennis enjoyed continuing the tradition of family games of poker, even when he got burned by three Aces in a row!
Dennis was a good man in the most fundamental way, untiringly giving of himself. He never complained about working 6 days a week for decades on end. He was a kind, generous man who could always be counted on to lend a hand. From cutting his Aunts’ lawn as a young man, to more recently helping his sons with household projects, he was a fount of practical knowledge which his boys drew upon regularly. He was always available to pick up the phone and take a moment to answer a question about this project or that. Pop-pop loved playing with his grandchildren and seeing them grow brought him great joy. He reveled in encouraging them to sneak treats or get into fun mischief that his sons never would have gotten away with as youths.
Friends and family are invited to the Alleva Funeral Home, Inc. for a visitation on Friday February 10th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM and an internment at Philadelphia Memorial Park.
