David Mikowychok, of Devon PA, age 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 13th, 2016 after complications due to heart disease. Born in Norristown, PA, he was the son of the late Theodore J. and Mary T. (Subranni) Mikowychok. He graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School in 1968 as Valedictorian. He received his Electrical Engineering B.S. Degree from Villanova University in 1972. He worked for Burroughs (later Unisys) in the Malvern area from 1972-2002. Later, he worked as an engineer for Lockheed Martin in King of Prussia from 2003-2009.
He enjoyed electronics, computer-repair, and audio work. He also loved playing bass and guitar, and played in the wedding band ‘Riverside’ in the 1970s and 80s. He volunteered by playing guitar, providing sound support, and singing in the choir at St. Monica’s church in Berwyn.
He is survived by wife, Kimberly, of Devon, PA, 2 children Carol Persin (John) of Pittsburgh, PA and Alan Mikowychok (Stephanie) of Washington, D.C. Also surviving is a brother John Mikowychok (Louise) of Downingtown, PA, and Nieces Ellen Yusuf (Olu) of Aliso Viejo, CA and Laura Smith (Eric) of Phoenixville, PA. David is also survived by many cousins and extended family. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday August 17th from 6-8pm at Alleva Funeral Home: 1724 Lancaster Avenue. Paoli, PA 19301. Then again, on Thursday August 18th from 9:30-10:15am at Saint Monica Church of Berwyn: 35 Main Ave. Berwyn, PA 19312. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 S. Gulph Road. King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in David’s honor to the Music at Monica’s.
