You could not ask for a better and good man than David. He had the most beautiful smile and was known for his warmth, sense of humor, and generosity. He enjoyed being with family and longtime friends. Over the years, he enjoyed dancing with his wife, puzzles and board games, golf, reading mysteries, writing poetry, and deep spiritual practice. He was a dedicated Associate at the Daylesford Abbey where he also published photographs of the nature around the grounds and at Abbey functions. He also loved to run errands and be of service to others.
David is survived by his loving wife Lucinda (Cindy) of almost 60 years and their five beautiful children: Katherine Holtz (John) of Pittsburgh, Pa., Lucinda Marturano (Thomas) of Malvern, Pa., Mark Hammond (Moe’) of Kanazawa, Japan, Madeline Hammond of St. Davids, Pa., and John Hammond who preceded him in death. David is survived by siblings Josh Hammond (Lynn McCormick) of Charlestown, S.C., and Paul Hammond (Grace) of Whiteland, Ind., and seventeen nieces and nephews and their children.
“Pop Pop” loved his grandchildren Eric Marturano (Erin), Bridget Yoder (Brendon), Oscar and Finn Spiers, Jim Marturano, and Zen Hammond. The latest addition is great-grandson Marco Marturano.
