Born on August 22, 1934 in Palombaro, Abruzzo, Italy to Domenico and Filomena (Giangiulio) Falcone. Antonio's journey was one of resilience, hard work, and profound love.
In his youth, Antonio spent his days shepherding sheep amidst the rolling hills and mountains surrounding his hometown. At 15, he embarked on a voyage to the United States, where he began a new chapter of his life. Just three days after his arrival, Antonio began his studies at Radnor High School, graduating with the class of 1953.
A proud alumnus of what he affectionately referred to as the 'University of Palombaro,' Antonio channeled his expertise in the pastoral arts into a thriving landscaping business in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Alongside his beloved wife, Toni (Antoniette Di Mattia), whom he married in 1956, Antonio worked diligently, raised two children, cultivated vibrant gardens, and shared countless joyous feasts and bottles of vino cotto with friends and family.
Antonio's spirit was as vibrant as the blooms he nurtured, and his heart overflowed with generosity, empathy, and song. His rendition of "Volare" became his signature song, a symbol of his boundless spirit and zest for life.
Antonio is survived by his daughter, Loretta Falcone, and her children, Andrea, Nicholas, and Sophia Christopher; his son, Anthony Falcone (and partner Kara) and his sons Dante, Dario, and Damian Falcone. He is also survived by his second wife, Yolanda (Calvarese) Procacci. A debt of gratitude from the family to, Antoniette's sister, Margaret Melligan, who provided solace, love, support and comfort during his time of need. She held his hand all day, every day. Antonio was predeceased by his beloved first wife, Antoinette Di Mattia Falcone and brothers Gentile and Riciotto Falcone.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate his life will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church (35 Old Eagle School Road, Wayne PA) on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10:30 am followed by a Burial Ceremony at Calvary Cemetery (Matsonford Road, Conshohocken, PA).
Antonio Falcone's legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will continue to reverberate through the lives of those he touched. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Our Lady of the Assumption Music Ministry.
