Anthony Grande

He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Vincent and Fannie Grande and graduated from Jericho High School in 1971, graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 1976, and received his Master’s degree from George Washington University in 1981. He was a loving husband to his wife Kathy of 45 years, parent to his children Vinny (Linda) and Stephanie (Chris), and grandparent to Audrey and Luke. He enjoyed traveling to Florida to spend time with his parents, sister Phyllis (Alvin), and two brothers Joseph (Kathleen) and Paul (Cherie). He was a fun and loving relative to many: son-in-law to Angelo and Vita Barba, brother-in-law to Fran Barba, Lily and Dan Patton, and Vince and Bonnie Barba, as well as an uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Vincent Grande and father-in-law Angelo Barba.

Anthony loved helping others, whether it was on the high seas when he proudly served as a Lieutenant in the United States Coast Guard or in his career as a Project Manager and Associate Director at Merck for 39 years. This devotion to others was part of his faith as a Catholic, which was central to his life. He also had many hobbies: no one could match his gardening skills, and he delighted in cooking signature seafood dishes and sharing music trivia. More than anything, he was passionate about sharing good times with family and friends, usually involving fine wine and funny anecdotes. He brightened so many lives and we will all miss him, even as we are thankful for the memories he left us.

A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Wayne, PA on Friday May 6th at 11:00, followed by a burial ceremony at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens in King of Prussia. The funeral mass will be live-streamed via Zoom (Meeting ID: 879 2123 4460 Passcode: 872895).
