Born in Ardmore, Ada grew up with two brothers and was a member of the West Spring Avenue crew. They were a very tight knit, primarily Italian neighborhood, where everyone knew everyone. They stayed in touch and gathered often for many, many years.
Ada graduated from Lower Merion High School, where she participated in the drum and bugle core.
Ada met Ed roller skating at the Chez Vous. On their first date they went to the movie theater to see Casa Blanca. They were married in 1944 and the rest is history.
During WWII, while Ed was away Ada worked at the Auto Car packing air plane and tank parts. Later she was a switchboard operator, a ticket person at the movie theater, and a receptionist for H&R Block. She most enjoyed being Girl Friday helping her daughter with her business.
Ada enjoyed volunteering at St. Coleman’s church, and being a Girl Scout Troop leader.
For fun Ada loved to shop, bowl, play Pokino and watch Baseball. As time went by it was obvious, baseball was her favorite. She visited most of the baseball parks across the country and absolutely never missed a Phillies game.
Faith, Hope and Love, all qualities Ada possessed and shared with everyone. She so greatly loved her husband and daughters, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She often showed her delight with her sparkling eyes and oh so friendly smile. Family and friends also enjoyed the love Ada shared. She would always make you feel special, and never forget your birthday or anniversary.
Ada will be missed by all, each in our own way. Take comfort she is with God, and so many who also love her.
