Sara Ruth (Williams) McGrath age 98, of Bradenton, formerly of Altamonte Springs, Fla., passed away in her sleep Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 with family by her side. Sara was born in Spartanburg, S. C. October 28, 1916 to James Smiley Williams and Carrie Emily (McMillan) Williams. She was the sole survivor of her immediate family being predeceased in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. She was also predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Robert A. McGrath Jr., and a son Ronald Gary McGrath. She is survived by a son, Robert A. McGrath III, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, both of Bradenton, 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 4 nephews and a niece. Sara was retired from the Seminole County School Board, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rolling Hills Moravian Church in Longwood, Fla., for more than 35 years, the Longwood Widow's Club, the Longwood Tourist Club, and NARFE. She moved to Bradenton from Altamonte Springs after suffering a stroke in 2013. A Funeral Service will be held March 7, 2015, at Kicliter Funeral Home, 517 8th Ave. W. in Palmetto, FL. Viewing at 1p.m., service to follow.
