Melba Lorraine Hunt, 88 passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in Sarasota, Florida. She was born on June 28, 1927 in Palmetto, Florida to William Franklin and Mary Lou Joyner. Melba was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church of Palmetto and Church Choir. Melba enjoyed life and loved to sew, singing in the choir, crafts and collecting things but she especially loved to spend time with her family.
Melba is survived by her son Gary Hunt and his wife Carol, her daughter Deborah Ben and her husband the late Dr. Kevin Ben, her grandchildren Cislyn Smith and her husband Todd and Joshua Ben.
Melba is preceded in death her parents William Franklin and Mary Lou Joyner, her husband Daniel Wayne Hunt and her sister Billie Joyner.
A visitation for Melba will be on Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Kicliter Funeral Home in Palmetto. A Funeral Service Celebrating Melba’s life will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11:00am at Kicliter Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palmetto City Cemetery.
