James G. Windle, III was born 2-20-1935 in Beckley, WV to James Goyne Windle, jr. and Gertrude Young Windle. He graduated from Beckley High School in Beckley, West Virginia. He attended Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. His career took him across the United States, including West Virginia, the Carolinas, Ohio, Texas, and Kentucky in Sales and Management in the manufacturing industry, aluminum and fabrication. Over a decade ago he retired from the Don Moore Automotive Team as their Rental Manager.
His belief in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior was instilled by his parents. His grandfather was a Methodist minister. Always active in Presbyterian and Methodist Youth Fellowship, he was devoted to Jesus Christ. As an adult he was an adult sponsor of a youth group at Settle Memorial Methodist Church in Owensboro, Kentucky where he was a faithful member. After moving to Parrish, Florida he became an active member of First United Methodist Church of Palmetto, Florida.
Jim loved a good laugh and could pull you into his jokes with his innocent look and smiling eyes. He was car crazy. He had albums with pictures of all the cars he had ever owned (hundreds of cars over his lifetime). He also followed NASCAR. His favorite driver was Jeff Gordon.
Jim’s earthly life was transformed into a heavenly vision with Christ on 3-9-2016 in Bay Pines, Florida. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother William Patrick Windle of Sacramento, California; his sister Trudye Y. Windle of Owensboro, Kentucky and his first wife Madge M. Windle.
Those left to cherish his memory are: the love of his life and wife Judith R. Windle of Parrish, Florida; his sons: James G. Windle, IV (Dianne) and Michael P. Windle (Laura) of Bradenton, Florida; and Oliver Y. Windle (Kristen) of Camas, Washington; a brother Mel Windle (Margaret) of Owensboro, Kentucky; his grandchildren Nicole Windle of Lakeland, Florida; Jessica Windle, and Sara Laflam of Bradenton, Florida; Grayson Windle and Kelsey Windle of Camas, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
