Patti was born in Waukegan, Illinois to Barbara and Billy Steele on February 17, 1958. Patti grew up in a Navy family, relocating often. Eventually, the family set roots and Patti graduated from Haverhill High School in Massachusetts. Patti worked for Sears as a service technician for 15 years while raising her two children as a single mom. In addition to Massachusetts, she made homes in both Arizona and Florida.
Patti had a strong heart, was thoughtful and generous. She improved the lives of loved ones in her own unique ways. She put her energies into the love and care of others, whether they were her family, friends, dogs, or complete strangers. Most recently, she volunteered with Random Acts of Flowers, creating and delivering beautiful bouquets for hospitals and nursing homes. Patti fostered homeless dogs; her beloved companions, Jupiter, Jasmine, and Bella, were all rescues. Patti was creative and blessed with many talents. She was accomplished in baking, sewing and ceramics. She could fix just about anything, paint like a pro and loved to garden. In all her capacities, Patti had infectious energy and worked hard to make the world more beautiful and fun. No dance floor, dog, or beach at sunset went untouched in her presence. When Patti’s light was on, she shined brighter than most.
Patti was preceded in death by her mother Barbara (Sylvia) Steele, her father Billy Steele, and godson and nephew, Sean Steele. Patricia is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Melissa Baldwin, and her daughter, Kellie McMahon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chase and Clara Baldwin, and her siblings, Kim Steele, William Steele, Thomas Steele, and Jonathan Steele, as well as 11 nieces and nephews.
