He was 85 years old and was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 28, 1934.
He married his wife Nancy on February 11, 1956, and they raised their family in Ellicott City, Maryland.
Joe worked in car sales for most of his life, and was the president of the Used Car Automobile Dealers Association of Maryland in the ‘70s.
Deciding that 54 Baltimore winters were enough, he and Nancy moved to Florida in 1987, where they opened a printing business and enjoyed spending their time going to the beach and – as he was quick to point out to everyone - not shoveling snow. He was an active member of the Palm Harbor Optimist and Sertoma Clubs and Chamber of Commerce, and he enjoyed working with those groups to make his community better. He and Nancy retired from the printing business in 2002. After that, he renewed his interest in cowboy movies and baseball games. (Go O’s! Go Rays!)
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Gwynne Judge, and children Kimberly Ann deCourcelle, of Columbus, North Carolina, Joseph Bernard Judge III and his wife Theresa of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and Allison Gwynne Anderson and her husband Tim of Palm Harbor, Florida.
He was a loving Grandpa/Poppy to grandchildren Heather Greene, Bryan Judge, Matthew deCourcelle, Kelley DelVecchio, and Benjamin Anderson. He will be joining grandson Samuel Anderson in heaven, where there was surely a joyful reunion when Sam ran to greet him at the gates.
He was blessed to be great-grandpa to Charlotte DelVecchio, Fallon Judge, Dalton Greene, Jack DelVecchio, Ariston deCourcelle, Porter Judge and Merit deCourcelle.
He is survived by his brother, Charles Judge and his wife Mary, of Ft Myers, Florida, brother Al Judge of Sedona, Arizona, and niece Debbie Judge of Ellicott City, Maryland.
