Susan Faber

Faber- Susan, age 73 of West Palm Beach, FL, formerly of Newton Center, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 14, 2015. Susan was the wife of the late Dr. Richard L. Faber. Adored daughter of the late Rose and Meyer Magerer, and sister of the late Robert Magerer. Loving mother of Lynn H. Raisman and her husband, Richard, of Needham. Cherished grandmother of Madison, Chloe, Brett and Alexandra Raisman. Loving sister of Reva Devore , of West Palm Beach, FL, her identical twin with whom she shared a special bond, and her husband, Dr. Lawrence Devore. Susan is also survived by her sister in-law, Cookie Magerer of Newton , her brother-in law, Robert Faber of California, and her nephews Jeffrey and Scott Devore of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Mark Devore of Newport Coast, Ca. and Michael Magerer of Needham. Susan was a graduate of Newton High School, Boston University, and Boston College. For many years, Susan managed her own desktop publishing firm, The Invisible Secretary, helping people with their business needs. Susan along with her husband, Rick, was an active participant in the organization, Kidney, Transplant, Dialysis Association creating a patient handbook as a guide for caregivers which is still benefitting many families. Until Center Dialysis was established, Susan was her husband’s dialysis nurse, dialyzing him three days a week for five years, an extraordinary feat, which was just the beginning of her devotion to Rick and his dialysis which lasted forty-four years.
