I was saddened to learn of the death of my dear, sweet Uncle Marty. After my wife and daughter moved to Vermont from California in 1997, we stayed in touch with Uncle Marty, and he visited us here in Vermont. On this occasion, I flew down to Long Island to pick him up. 

I remember Uncle Marty as a kind, sweet soul, who loved his family. He always called on holidays to wish us well, and he loved my father, his brother Herb. Uncle Marty also stayed in touch with my mom, Audrey, after my parents divorced, and he loved my mom as a sister. 

I will miss hearing his gentle voice.

I am very saddened by the loss of my cousin, Marty Tanzer. I was not aware he was ill or in the hospital.

We both lived on Long Island until he moved to Florida.  I kept in touch and visited him regularly until he moved. 

He was a kind and gentle man and the last member of my family that I had contact with.  Bill, please contact me!

My fondest memory of dear Uncle Marty was falling asleep in his lap when visiting the grandparents.  As a 4 year-old, I have such a clear memory of where he sat and how comfortable his lap was to fall asleep in.  Warm, cuddly and just right.  I am sure he is keeping good company in his transition.  Kind thoughts out to Cousin Richard and Cousin Ellen during this time of change.  Dad passed in 2020 at 88, so it was Uncle Marty who went the distance!

A bittersweet Passover now, but Uncle Marty led an impressively long life.  As Grandma Fay used to say, "It's not immaterial, but rather IN THE MATERIAL."
