A photo typical of the view I always shared of Les: A deeply moral and philosophical man with whom I enjoyed, over drinks, some of the most scintillating conversations I will ever have with anyone in my life. I am so thankful to have these wonderful memories, and to have had a truly rewarding friendship with such a special person.

BD"E. Leslie and I had sadly lost touch. He moved. I moved. He was a friend from Brooklyn with whom I was blessed to have shared many l'chaims while waxing philosophical about Israel... the government, the history, the people, the state... Judaism... what was better, Hebrew or Yiddish, and I could never think about Michener's "The Source" without thinking of Les. He was my booster, my cheerleader, my eternal encourager. He made me want to succeed because of the warm "kol ha'kavod[s]" that would follow. Les never minced words with me. He could occasionally be sharp in tone, because he knew I could do better. I'd Google him to see if I could find any life update whatsoever. This was not the news I was expecting to see. Sending prayers of comfort to his sons, his grandchildren, and all who loved him. I had always hoped to see Les again. He was the most wonderful person and I will miss him terribly. המקום ינחם אתכם בתוך שאר אבלי ציון וירושלים

Professor Arberman was one of my favorite professors. I was his student in 2003. 
He was brilliant, funny and just the coolest Professor ever. 
I am feeling sad today.

I was a student at Kingsboro Community College in Professor Arberman’s psychology class around 1974.  I was also in therapy with him and found him to be a down to earth man who made me feel at ease. I remember his sense of humor as I told him about my early life experiences. I haven’t seen him in many years but I feel a sense of loss.
He was a good man. My condolences to his family.

I was blessed to know Leslie for many years. He always spoke so fondly of his family, the trips to Israel, and always looking out for Roberta. He was an incredible listener and always offered the best advice. I miss our chats. The world is a better place because Leslie lived and his passing leaves a huge void but the impact he made will last a lifetime! Your family will always be in our prayers!

Dear Arberman family:  heartfelt condolences on the death of Leslie (Larry).  Roberta and I went to H.S. together and Bob and I lived in Park Slope near Roberta and Larry many, many years ago.
