Bill was born in Mitchell, Iowa and was the third child and eldest son of Vern and Adeline Naber, a family that eventually grew to include 15 siblings, 11 Boys and 4 Girls.
Bill was an apprentice plumber who worked for his father’s plumbing company, Naber’s Plumbing, prior to joining the National Guard and then went on to enlist in the United States Navy at the age of 17. Bill spent 20 years in the Navy as a plumber/pipefitter. His tours took him across the globe including 2 tours in Vietnam. Bill retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 2nd Class at the age of 37. During his military career he set numerous records of Academic Achievement and it would not be without surprise if some of them still existed today.
Bill met his lifelong love Rose while his ship was docked in Halifax Nova Scotia. They fell in love instantly and were soon married. Bill and Rose loved and raised seven children as they traveled and lived in many parts of the United States while he was in the Navy until he retired in 1975. After retiring from the Navy. Bill and Rose moved their family to Ontario, Canada in August 1975. After 8 years, they moved to Florida where he started Naber Plumbing, and became one of the most successful and largest Plumbing Contractors in Brevard County. Bill sold the business to Bill Jr. when he retired in 2008.
Our father was a devout family man and always put his wife Rose and children first. He was never short on offering help in any way that he could to a family member and looked after many in more ways than could be imagined.
Bill had the most fun spending time with family, camping with Rose and the kids either in the mountains or at Glamis giving everyone rides in the dune buggy. They visited the national Parks in their motorhome often meeting up with family in South Dakota and Wyoming. He loved working on cars, jet skiing, quadding and working on his biggest passion, purchasing and restoring antique Triumph motorcycles. He was a book of knowledge when it came to Triumph’s, there was very little he could not tell you about or work on from some of the earliest vintages to the most recent years.
