Billy was born March 26, 1941 in Miami-Dade, Florida. He grew up in Fellsmere, Florida. Billy was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in 1958 in troop 555, was a member of The Order of the Arrow, and became Scout Master of Troop 554. He graduated from Fellsmere High School in 1959.
On December 28, 1964 he married the love of his life, Brenda Mae Tuck. Throughout his life, he served on the Fellsmere City Council, and he worked at Piper Aircraft, City of Fellsmere, Gulf and Western Co., Sun Ag, Fellsmere Farms, and was in the citrus trucking industry. Most notably, he was a heavy equipment operator and worked with the Indian River County Road and Bridge Department grading roads throughout Fellsmere and Vero Lake Estates.
He is survived by his sons, William “Allen” (wife Tammy) and Bruce Andrew (wife Julie); nine grandchildren: of Allen Green: Terry Lee (Dourth), William “Will” Allen, Amanda Rose, and Charles Michael, of Bruce Green: Mark Andrew and David Andrew, of Charles Green: Haylee Gwyneth, Hanna Ruby (Whitaker), and Bryson Jeffrey (Whitaker); and his sister Lillian Ruth (McCants). He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Mae (Tuck); his son, Charles Edward (Kim); parents, Warren Weigle and Ruth Jane; brother, Warren Wylie “Buddy”; and sister, Mary Jane (Whitehead).
Billy Green was happiest in the woods, camping and hunting, or on the water fishing. He also enjoyed wood working and tinkering. Billy’s most cherished hobby was his family and his devotion to his loved ones.
A visitation will be held at Fountainhead Funeral Home of Palm Bay on Friday, June 19th. Family visitation will be 4:00-5:00 pm, and friends will be welcome 5:00-7:00 pm. His funeral service will also be held at Fountainhead Funeral Home on Saturday, June 20th at 9:30 a.m. and will be immediately followed by a graveside committal service.
