Susan M. Smith

Susan was born in Poughkeepsie, New York to Paul and Doris Teal (née Cole) in January 1956. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1974.

She began working at Cambridge Memories in Poughkeepsie, New York in 1974 and also worked for the Poughkeepsie Journal before transitioning to Harris Semiconductor. After a few years, she relocated to Palm Bay, Florida in 1982, where she continued her career with Harris for many years. Eventually, her heart led her to the path of caring for others and she started working with Americorp. She began working for Glenbrooke of Palm Bay as a bookkeeper and chef. Finally, she moved to Palm Bay Memory Care where she continued caring for others as an activities coordinator.

She is survived by her loving husband, John; her daughters, Christine (Jamie) Brooks and Kelly (Derek) Tabet; her step daughters - Julie (Tardu) Ulgen, Jennifer (Jose) Santana, Jessica (Chris) Smith, and Jaime (Rob) Ceely; her 18 grandchildren - Arianna, Reece, Sebastien, Gavin, Emerson, Kameryn, Colin, Christian, Carson, Donovan, Colton, Raven, Waylon, Lachlan, Anthony, Hailey, Jaxson, and Jaysen; her nieces, Jennifer and Julie; and her nephew, P.R.

She was predeceased by her father, Paul Teal; her mother, Doris Teal; her sister, Beverly Teal Wright; and her brother, Paul Stanley Teal.

The Memorial Service will be held on September 27th, 2020 at 1:00pm at Fountainhead Memorial in Palm Bay, Florida, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay Florida, 32909.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, a cause that was near and dear to her heart.
