Shirley was critically injured when she was three and a half years old, hit by a hit and run truck accident. Though she survived, she suffered throughout her life from the injuries she sustained from that accident. Despite the physical and mental challenges, Shirley dealt with daily, she loved to help others. She worked briefly as a nurses aide in a nursing home. She cared for her mother until Sophia passed.
Shirley especially loved animals. When she was no longer able to care for a dog, she supported the SPCA to continue to show her love for animals.
Shirley always made sure other around her were being taken care of, despite the physical challenges she faced daily.
Shirley loved Polish food, especially pierogi and halupki. She was a huge fan of the cheesecake that her nephews would bring her.
Shirley will be remembered as a kind, generous soul with a spicy side to her.
