Shirley Louise Gardner

Shirley Gardner, 94, of Palm Bay died February 9, 2021. She was born to James and Violet Johnson in Detroit, Michigan and had been a resident of Florida for many years. Shirley formerly worked as a stenographer for General Electric, where she met her husband of 53 years, Javis. She was also a Girl Scout Troop Leader, swimming, water exercise and lifeguard instructor, and she taught CPR classes. One of the things she enjoyed the most about teaching was when she taught toddlers. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Javis; sister, Doris Hamilton and brother, Jim Johnson. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Lane, Janis Martin and Gail Zolty (Mark); grandchildren, Ashley Brown (Scott), Jason Martin, Sean Rochette and Joel Rochette; and four great-grandchildren. Shirley was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2021, at Fountainhead Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2021, at Fountainhead Funeral Home, with entombment to follow in Fountainhead Memorial Park.
