Born in Victoria, AL, he was the son of Theron and Vaunceil Head. After finishing high school in Warner Robins, GA, he attended college at Georgetown University. He then served for 3 years in the U.S. Army from 1957 – 1960. He had a successful and rewarding career in the federal government working primarily with the Identification Division of the FBI in the Washington DC area.
He retired to the Palm Bay, FL area in 1992. During his retirement, he enjoyed playing golf with his brothers, Larry and Clay for many years at the Habitat and Spessard golf courses in the Brevard County area. He also enjoyed socializing and will be remembered for his competitiveness, especially when golfing, playing bridge and other games at family gatherings. He was very supportive of his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim, son-in-law John Clifford and their children, Anthony, Christopher and Caroline, and his five siblings: Clay (Dot), Dwain, Linda Schils, John, and Lynwood; and numerous in-laws, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brothers: Louie Head, Gilbert Head, and Larry Head.
He asked that no burial services be given. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a caring and giving person. His urn will be interred in a family memorial bench in the “Head Estate” by the parking area of the Chapel of Peace at Fountainhead Memorial Park in Palm Bay, FL.
