Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Salvatore and Vita Di Maio. He was the youngest of 10 children. After the passing of his mother, Salvatore left school to take care of his father. Later Salvatore served honorably in the US 7th Army in post WW2 Germany. He earned his GED while serving. Later Salvatore worked primarily as a roofer building many homes in NJ and PA and in commercial construction building malls, offices and airports in FL.
He enjoyed making improvements to his home and finding inventive ways to get the job done as his health declined. Salvatore will be remembered for his love of children, his humor and all the wonderful family history he passed down to the rest of the family. Salvatore was hardworking, kind, generous and funny always looking to make those around him laugh.
He is survived by spouse, Michael Ann, children, Nicholas, Lisa Marie, Kathleen, Salvatore, Anthony and Daniel, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, too numerous to name, as well as his adoring nieces and nephews. He loved them all equally and dearly.
The interment service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 10:00AM at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery 5525 U.S. Highway 1, Mims, FL 32754.
