Peggy Joan Reed passed away at the age of 94 from heart failure on September 27, 2018 in Melbourne, Florida. She was born in Polo, Missouri on July 22, 1924, the daughter of Loren and Grace Cartright. She attended Polo High School and was a member of their Volleyball Team.
After marrying Lowell Reed in 1942, she lived in Farragut, Idaho; Kansas City, Kansas; Omaha, Nebraska and moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1954. While in Marietta, she was a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid square dancer and enjoyed family camping and sewing. Peggy moved to the Melbourne/Palm Bay area in 1975 and held several jobs including managing the snack bar/grill at Spessard Holland Golf Course when it opened. She also helped raise her two granddaughters and took care of them as her own from their very young age until adulthood.
She was predeceased by two sisters (Shirley and Lorraine), a brother (Eli), her twins (Keith and Karen), her son (Tommy) and her husband of 73 years (Lowell).
She is survived by her son Timothy, two granddaughters and their husbands (Gina & Lloyd and Nina & Josh) and three great grandchildren (Sabrina, Robert, and RaeAnn).
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 2:00pm at 20 Annette Drive in West Melbourne.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 10:00am at Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7303 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909.
