Nancy was born to Walter and Marie Mullen in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 15, 1932. She attended Saint Mary's High School in West Palm Beach, FL. and graduated in 1950. After high school, Nancy enrolled in Saint Mary's Hospital’s School of Nursing where she earned her diploma.
She married Gilbert J. Pfister on Feb. 6, 1954 and started their family of five children. Gilbert and Nancy cherished 56 years of marriage. After spending over 23 years as a military spouse, she returned to nursing as an Operating Room Nurse where she helped save countless lives for over 15 years.
In retirement, they traveled extensively both in the US and abroad. Nancy’s hobbies included kiln firing her hand painted china, swimming and reading. She enjoyed volunteering at the local library and spending as much time as possible with all her family.
Gilbert Sr. preceded Nancy in death as did her two daughters, Helen Hayden and Catherine Mosier. She is survived by three sons, Gilbert (Susan) Pfister Jr., Anthony (Linda) Pfister, Andrew (Laurie) Pfister, son-in-law Paul Hayden, eight grandchildren (Ryan, Ariane, Jamie B., Robert, Craig, Jason, Janelle and Jamie G.), twelve great grandchildren and numerous other family members.
A service for Nancy Jean Pfister will be held at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church on 5330 Babcock Street NE, Palm Bay, FL. at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, followed by her internment and a short service at Fountainhead Memorial Park (Chapel of Peace) 7359 Babcock St. SE, Palm Bay, FL. There will also be a Celebration of Life following the internment/service at her son Anthony and his wife Linda's house. (1717 Edith St. NE, Palm Bay, FL).
